The Lord …is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9b)

1. You must understand your need.
   • Everyone is guilty of sin. (Romans 3:10,23)
   • The penalty for sin is eternal punishment in hell. (Romans 6:2, Revelation 20: 14-15)
2. You must understand God’s provision.
   • God has freely provided all you need to be saved. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to die in your place. (John 3:16-18)
3. You must understand your responsibility.
   • There is no amount of good that you can do to save yourself. Salvation is the free gift of God, paid for by the shedding of the blood of Jesus on the cross. (Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 3:23)
   • You must turn from sin to God with all your heart. The Bible calls this repentance. (Luke 13: 3,5)
   • You must receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior by faith, a complete reliance upon Jesus and a total commitment of your life to Him. (John 1:12, John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31)

• God changes your life. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
• You are given abundant life. (John 10:10)
• You are qualified for baptism. (Acts 8:36-37, Matthew 28:19-20
• You are ready to be part of the local church. (Acts 2:47)
• You are now ready to begin to grow in the Christian life. (1 Peter 2:1-2, 2 Peter 2:18)

Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:2 - God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Revelation 20: 14-15 - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

John 3:16-18 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Ephesians 2:8-10 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Luke 13: 3,5 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. . . . I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Acts 16:30-31 - And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

John 10:10 - The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Acts 8:36-37 - And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Matthew 28:19-20 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

1 Peter 2:1-2 - Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

2 Peter 2:18 - For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
